words and music by Kent Newsome and Rick Paul
From the single Halloween
No pumpkins, no candy
Not a goblin in sight
Our house is all empty
On Halloween night
This holiday’s no time
To be out on your own
Just me and the ghosts here
Since my baby’s been gone
It’s not the costumes
That scare me tonight
It’s the fact that my baby
Is nowhere in sight
I don’t know no tricks
And it sure ain’t no treat
To be all by myself here
On this Halloween
A princess came knocking
But she was the wrong one
There were cats and cowboys
Witches and indians
I guess this is the night
You can be something else
I’d settle for anybody
Other than myself
It’s not the costumes
That scare me tonight
It’s the fact that my baby
Is nowhere in sight
I don’t know no tricks
And it sure ain’t no treat
To be all by myself here
On this Halloween
No candy, no pumpkins
Not a goblin in sight
Just me and the ghosts here
On Halloween night
