The Altarmen & Julie, a gospel group based in Shallotte, North Carolina released Rick’s song, "It Started in a Manger", as the title cut on their 1998 Christmas album. The group’s recording of the song was also released to radio in November of 1998 on the Vision Quest Music Group’s multi-artist CD compilation, Praises to the Babe in the Manger.
